christmas biscuits

So here I am this thursday evening with nothing else better to do lol when my daughter comes home from school and says mum can we make biscuits for my friends at school tomorrow for xmas presents, nothing like leaving things to the last moment eh.

So its took 5 1/2 hours lol to make the dough, chill it, cook it and ice and gift wrap everything we are really pleased how they have turned out so make make so more for nieces and nephews as things are tight this year so we are not buying presents for each other but what inexpensive gifts these are.

Gift box

At the weekend I altered a little gift box to put a secret santa present in for my christmas meal at work this week. I have never done anything like this before and it was a bit out of my comfort zone, I see some fabulous projects on other peoples blogs when they do this but mine didn't quite turn out as good oh well. I have used my promarkers and some christmas papers from my stash as well as other embellies.

I am going to enter this for the roses on paper challenge which is to alter something and the promarkers challenge which is anything but a card with a christmas or new year theme.

In the pink

Here is my 3rd christmas card for this year I am slowly catching up, only just got back into my card making although i thoroughly enjoyed it as my sister came over for a craft night I was really tired. The gorgeous papers are Zoe Pearn again! and I have used an elzybells stamp that I bought last year and didn't even use it poor thing I am entering this card into the stamp with stampavie this week they have a christmas theme at the moment.

Week 9 - sketch by Tara

This is my first christmas card of the year, but I have been looking at everyone else's blog and it seems they are way ahead of me already. I am still recovering from my operation and this is the first time that I have actually been able to make a card I still need help lifting heavy things so I have some great helpers round the house, because unlike some of you lucky girls I don't have my own craft room so I have 3 cupboards and I have to put it away each time.
Anyway I will stop going on now I am entering this card for this weeks basic grey challenge
the sketch is a lovley one created by Tara G, I have used my lovely wisteria papers.

commissioned cards

Hi everyone I've been a bad blogger but I do have an excuse I am going into hospital this wednesday for a major operation then its home to rest for 12 weeks before going back to work.
I have also started my foundation degree in teaching which has taken a lot of my time up since september.
I just haven't found the time to do any crafting surprise, surprise!
My lovely husband has bought me some lovely craft stuff to use for when I am recouperating so this will be something to look forward to.

Feeling blue

I have used a sarah kay image, this has to be my favourite at the moment. I also used a lot of scraps and old papers from doodlebug that I haven't touched I am a bit like that like to collect papers and not use them lol I am sure you know what I mean.
The lady that I have made this for is mad about the colour blue as you can see!
Right off to the hospital for my appointment now can't wait to get it over with then back to work for me today.

Here is my entry for this weeks anyone for anya, I have paper pieced her dress and 3D her skirt, coloured with promarkers and finished her wings with stickles.

The paper is my minds eye I think and the sentiment stamp I purchased from ebay last year.

belly dancing

I am going to enter my card in this weeks abc challenge the theme is circles so I have made some lollipop flowers, buttons are circles and I have also put a bead in her belly button which is also a circle hope this counts.

I have really enjoyed colouring this image and the papers are from basic grey my new papers I love the strong vibrant colours, this is a birthday card that I have made for a collegue at work who is mad about belly dancing.

The image is from sandra dry doesn't she do some gorgeous digital images! I will definetly be purchasing some more.

An elephant and his trunk

Here is my card this week for the return of basic grey challenge blog, I have used my new ambrosia papers, gingham & organza ribbon, square punch, flowers from poppicrafts, brad from stash and the lovely elephant stamp is out of my daughters craft stash.

sons 18th Birthday cake

It was my son's 18th birthday yesterday 12th August and as I have been so busy concreting this week with my husband I just managed to finish his birthday cake in time.
I had an image printed for him at my local cake shop of his favourite on line game character and made his favourite chocolate cake, covered this in chocolate sugarpaste, iced around the cake and finished with chocolate fingers so can you tell he loves chocolate!
We took him out for a chinese meal last night and he didn't even have pudding because he couldn't wait to get back home to tuck his teeth into this lol.
His sisters embarrassed him by telling the waiter that it was his birthday and they announced it in the very busy restaurant and he was really embarrassed lol.
But couldn't wait to get back home so that we could sing happy birthday again and he could blow out his candles I knew there was still a kid him still somewhere.
so off to finish royal icing an order for a 75th birthday now.

On my holidays

I will be on my holiday with my family in the lake district, no doubt we will have blazing sun and be on the beach everyday but just in case I have been to the library to stock up on a little of something to read, the car is packed with lots of crafting stuff for the girls, games, ds and etc to keep them occupied too.

I love lemonade anya

I've made this card with my new bg lemonade papers, I've made the card for my son's girlfriend who will be turning 17 in a couple of weeks time.

Can anybody tell me why it keeps double line spacing need some help here frustrated I only want single line spacing?

Lily of the valley

Boy oh boy this week has been absolutely manic at school for me getting everything ready for September and getting things cleaned and sorted lol, but now I have 6 weeks holiday yippee!!!

As well as having quite a few wedding card orders I also made a retirement cake for 3 teachers that have retired!!! so i have been quite a busy bee.

One very proud mum

Here some photos from my sons passing out parade on friday in Bassingbourne, after 14 weeks of hard training my son made me the proudest mum ever!

It was so emotional words can't describe how i feel, I also feel a little bit scared for the future ahead I am sure you all know what I am talking about though!

He is home for 3 weeks then gets posted to Borden for phase 2 training he seems very happy, grown up and mature bless him and is having the time of his life he has made loads of new mates as well.

Wow how happy do i feel at this moment I have just got 2 distinctions in my cake decorating course that i started in September I never thought that i would get that I at least thought 2 merits I am so proud I will post a picture of my final cake later

Here is my entry for this weeks sugar bowl challenge and its a beautiful sketch by lilian and the extra option is a colour challenge which is to use 'kraft' in your design but not heard of this!
so it also said that you could use brown and creams so this is the option I have gone with quite pleased with the finished result. Oh and by the way if you enter you could be in a chance of winning a the brand new set of gorjuss girls 3!

This the card that I am entering for the sugarbowl challenge this week, I wasn't to sure on the papers when I had done it but now its comeplete I sort of like it. You have to use pearls in your creation this week I have used liquid pearls on my tabs and the flowers on my little girls and big pearls on the flowers, su papers, promarkers and retro punches.
